Lake District Holidays

One of the problems with going on holiday is trying to fit everything in. You want to make the most of the place you’re visiting because you don’t know when you’ll be able to go back there. And if your destination is the Lake District, then you will be back. One thing that’s important to remember, and is easily forgotten in the rush to do things, is that it’s a holiday. Whether you’re camping, or staying in a hotel, or you’ve found this site Go Visit The Lakes to accommodate yourselves for your stay, you will be in a position to do whichever activities you have planned.

But take a morning, or an afternoon, or even a day if you feel like it, where you have nothing planned. Look out of the window, see what the weather’s doing. Watch the clouds for a while. See that person hurrying along the street. You’re not in a hurry, you’re on holiday. Feel smug, feel sorry for the person, get distracted by a passing bird. Of course, these are just suggestions. There might not be a bird, or a person, or a street, or even a window if you’re in a tent.

If it’s a nice day, consider going out. You don’t have to, of course. You don’t have to do anything. It’s a holiday. Food. Food’s important. Maybe you spotted some nice Lake District restaurants on your way to your accommodation. Most likely you’ll find a nice lunch there. Or you could make up your own lunch and take it wherever you decide to go. Do you want to go anywhere? Maybe not. Does that book need finishing? Quite possibly.

Step outside, breathe in that air. Even better if it’s raining. Look left. Look right. Flip a coin. Wander off. There are people in a café over there having a cup of tea. That seems like a good idea. Have some tea. Watch the world go by. Or watch the steam rise from your mug. Warmed up? Take a stroll. There are probably some good views from that hill up there. And it’s downhill all the way back to where you’re staying. Bonus.

What did you do this morning? Nothing. Good answer.
